What is BMI?


BMI stands for Body Mass Index and is used to represent an index of body weight in relation to height. BMI is recommended to assess body fatness rather than measuring weight alone. It is not a measurement of exact body fat. Having a high BMI does not always mean a person has too much fat. Athletes may have a higher BMI than Normal because they have more muscle than the average person, thus weighing more. Despite their high BMI, they are in good health.
